Account Settings
How to manage your QrioTag profile, security, notifications, billing, and account preferences.
Your account settings let you control everything about your QrioTag experience — from your display name to your notification preferences to your subscription plan. To access settings, click "Settings" in the navigation menu.
Settings Sections
Profile
Update your name, display name, phone, country, city, and avatar.
Security
Change your password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
Notifications
Control which events trigger email and push notifications, and set quiet hours.
Billing
View your subscription tier, payment history, and manage your plan.
Language & Timezone
Set your preferred interface language and local timezone.
Profile Settings
The profile section lets you manage your personal information.
To update your profile: edit the fields you want to change, then click "Save Changes."
Your Display Name appears to other users in certain contexts. It is separate from the Owner Name on each tag profile, which you set individually per tag and is what finders see when they scan.
Settings on Mobile
On mobile, the settings tabs switch to a scrollable horizontal tab bar at the top, with each section taking the full width of the screen.

Dark Mode & Light Mode
QrioTag supports both dark and light themes. The app follows your device's system preference automatically, or you can set it manually.

Security
Changing Your Password
Go to the Security Section
In settings, find the Security section.
Click "Change Password"
Click "Change Password" to expand the password form.
Enter Your Current Password
Type your current password to verify it is really you.
Enter Your New Password
Type your new password. It must meet these requirements:
- At least 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
- At least one lowercase letter (a-z)
- At least one number (0-9)
- At least one special character
Confirm Your New Password
Type the new password again to confirm.
Click "Update Password"
Click the button to save. A confirmation message will appear.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone knows your password, they cannot log in without your authenticator app.
Go to the Security Section
Find the Two-Factor Authentication area in settings.
Click "Enable 2FA"
Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication."
Scan the QR Code
Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, or 1Password) and scan the QR code shown on screen. If you cannot scan it, choose "Enter manually" in your app and type the text secret shown below the QR code.
Enter the Verification Code
Your authenticator app will display a 6-digit code. Enter it in the "Verification Code" field.
Click "Verify and Enable"
Click to complete setup. You will see a confirmation message.
After enabling 2FA, you will need your authenticator app every time you log in. Keep a backup of the secret key in a safe place — if you lose access to your authenticator app, you may be locked out of your account.
Notification Preferences
Control how and when you receive notifications.
Keep Scan Alerts, Lost/Found, and Messages turned on. These are the notifications that help you recover lost items.
Enabling Push Notifications
Enable Push Notifications
In notification settings, find Push Notifications and click "Enable Push Notifications."
Allow Browser Notifications
Your browser will ask for permission to show notifications. Click "Allow."
Done
A test notification confirms everything is working. Push notifications will now arrive for the types you have enabled.
Push notifications work through your web browser. You need the QrioTag tab open (or the site installed as a PWA) for push notifications to work.
Billing
The billing section shows your subscription and payment information.
Language and Timezone
| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Language | The language for the QrioTag interface | English (en) |
| Timezone | Your local timezone (affects notification times and scan timestamps) | UTC |
Select your preference from the dropdown and click "Save."
Changing your timezone affects how scan times are displayed in your dashboard and notification emails. The underlying scan data is always stored in UTC.
Deleting Your Account
Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. All tags, profiles, messages, scan history, and orders will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Scroll to the Danger Zone
At the very bottom of the settings page, find the "Danger Zone" section.
Click "Delete Account"
Click the red "Delete Account" button.
Confirm by Typing
Type the confirmation phrase shown (such as "DELETE MY ACCOUNT") to confirm the action is intentional.
Enter Your Password
Type your current password for final verification.
Click "Permanently Delete Account"
Click the final confirmation button. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
After deletion:
- All your tags are deactivated — scanning them will show nothing
- All messages, profile data, and scan history are erased
- Your subscription is cancelled with no further charges
- Your account cannot be recovered
Before deleting your account, consider transferring your tags to another person if the items they are attached to are still in use.
